Can’t afford a server?
 Many companies think they cannot afford the initial or the ongoing support cost of a dedicated server on their network and struggle on with a network of Windows PCs, where the shared data is distributed around the PCs and thus is not easily managed or backed up. E-mail is often only received and sent from one PC.
This is clearly counter productive, even for the smallest company with only a few computers, and the external image of one E-mail address is not good.
There may be no easy access to the world wide web, and the company may have a web site which is hosted externally, and is not well integrated into the day to day operations.
Cost too high, takes too long?
The cost of a server and the necessary Microsoft software to provide E-mail, internet access and other network facilities, along with the “scare” stories about it taking weeks to configure, means that senior management is often not prepared to risk the day to day operations, while a better service is installed.

 Cheaper and more reliable with Open Source software
The use of Linux and Open Source software means that these, and many more facilities, can be provided with less than “state of the art” hardware (which is cheaper), and with software that costs nothing, or very little. Surprisingly enough this software is often far more reliable that that from Microsoft. The open source movement takes a different approach to the quality vs. cost model because there is little monetary gain from producing open source software. Most open source software is unusually secure and reliable, given that there are usually no direct costs or revenue associated with its production. Peer review is another factor that contributes to open source's higher quality and reliability. Many of the best, most experienced programmers in the world contribute to open source software simply because they enjoy doing so. And programmers who write software in their own time become better programmers because they continue to learn and grow. When you can see other people's code, you learn more.
No more than the cost of a desktop PC!
Consequently we find we can supply a server to you for very little more that the cost of a desktop PC, we will configure the software beofre shipping it to you, and provide telephone support during the installation period, if you want to install it yourself.
Will my important applications run on it?
Many “Windows” applications which run on your workstations will still run when your network contains one of our servers. Many will allow the data to be hosted on the server itself, and accessed over the network, allowing important data to be properly secured and automatically backed up. Installation is easy by trained installers, in your area!
If you feel that a self installation is not for you, then we have a country wide network of trained installers who can do the installation for you at a very reasonable price.
Are you an installer or IT consultant?
If you are an IT installer or IT consultant, then we can supply the server fully configured to your customer’s requirements. You do not need to be a Linux expert to install the server, just the normal networking troubleshooting skills, and the ability to configure the Windows workstations to work in a peer to peer or domain environment.
