Maximum security is effected by using a  dedicated firewall. We have extensively tested the Linux  based IPCop software, and found  it reliable and highly effective.

The hardware that we supply can vary and will be a Pentium 2 with 32 or 64 Mb RAM and  a small hard disc (typically 1-4 Gb). We will supply 2  10/100 Network interface cards (NIC), and you might need to purchase either:

  1. V92 External modem (for internet access)

  2. Internal ISDN Controller (alternative for internet access)

See
here for more details on the internet connection options.

Unlike the SMEServer, IPCop does support an ADSL line  connected via a USB port, which adds a few extra options if the “wires only” ADSL is purchased. See here for more options (such as the Fujitsu  FDX-310 ADSL modem, which is a little cheaper than the AR601 recommended earlier.

See here for more details  of IpCop.
