Here is a list of applications that we know will run on Windows workstations, with the data hosted on the SMEServer.

Note that this list is not exhaustive, and may not even be up to date! Please use it as an indication only. We are not be responsible for applications running unless you have informed us of the need. If you have a particular application that you need, then please call us on 01695 723723 or email us and we will look into it. We may be able to host the application on one of our servers for you to try!

PC Law

Any filemaker pro application (running under Windows or Mac)

The filemaker pro server runs under Linux, but is an extra cost.

Any application using dBase files.

Any application using Microsoft Access files

Any application using Paradox database files

Most applications that access a database through ODBC

MySQL db is installed in the server, and ODBC drivers are available for all Windows clients.

Any application that uses the Interbase database.

There is an Open Source Interbase server for Linux.
