We sell many of our servers through IT consultants and installers.  They find it better to purchase the server ready configured, rather than try to configure it themselves, they may not have the time or the skill to put together the necessary hardware and Linux software. As our prices are so low (when compared to an equivalent Microsoft server), that there is plenty of headroom for profit on the sale and also on the installation fees. We provide the “backroom” support, via our free E-mail service. We keep track of the versions of the software modules installed, and will let you know if their are any serious issues that come up. If you need more concentrated support, then we can provide it at our standard rates over the telephone or via a VPN connection directly into the “offending” system (or both simultaneously). In the last resort we have connections with IT professionals throughout the country with Linux expertise.

We run one day courses which cover the details of the installation (although many will be able to install with the help of the supplied documentation).  Details of the course is here.

Some of our consultant customers have said that in the past they have avoided installing or even recommending servers as they were aware of the need for ongoing support, which sometimes cannot be easily recovered from the customer. With a Linux server, this is not the case. The ability for a Linux server to run for months or years unattended is well known.

We are happy to put references and links on our web site to installers and Consultants who sell our systems, along with references from end users.
