The server manager is a easy to use configuration tool that can be used to configure the SMEServer from a workstation using just a web browser such as Internet Explorer, opera, Mozilla, Netscape, etc. Facilities that can be configured include user name, passwords, backup schedule, shared disc areas, printers, etc. Each page has a “save” button which activates the changes without any re-boot necessary.

To enter the Server Manager, you just have to point your web browser to http://SMEserver/server-manager, and it will ask for the system user name (“admin”), and the system password.
A full set of options are presented. Clicking on the entry in the left frame will enter the requested configuration page in the right frame.
This panel is used to specify the Windows workgroup settings.
This panel will allow the date and time to be set either manually, or regularly from an internet time server.
and this one to set E-mail pickup details.
This panel is used to create, amend or delete user names.
and this one for user quotas.
This is to create or delete shared disc areas.
and this one to schedule regular backups to tape.
